Washington Medicaid Reimbursement Program
The Special Education Medicaid Reimbursement Program is a public/private partnership
with the goal of acquiring new funds for school districts. The program provides a process by which to gain Medicaid reimbursements for the
cost of providing health-related services to special education students, as part of their Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
The current reimbursement program resulted from changes in federal law and responses by the Washington state legislature to those changes.
For the past 20 years, Leader Services has been proud to serve Washington state schools as a vendor for the Medicaid Reimbursement Program.
As of September 1, 2009, the administration of the Medicaid Billing Program was transferred from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction
(OSPI) to the Washington state Health Care Authority (HCA).
Leader Services continues to provide billing agent services to Washington state schools. To participate in the program, school districts
must have a current Billing and Collection Services Agreement with Leader Service, as well as all forms currently required by the HCA,
before the billing and reimbursement process can commence.
If you need assistance completing the required forms or have any questions, please contact Leader Services
here, or contact Leader's Washington State Account Representative:
