Washington Medicaid Reimbursement program
The Medicaid Reimbursement Program is a public/private partnership with the goal
of acquiring new funds for school districts. The program provides a streamlined
process to gain Medicaid reimbursements for the cost of providing health-related
services to special education students as part of their Individualized Education
Program (IEP) or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). The program resulted
from changes in federal law and the response by the Washington State Legislature
to those changes.
For the past 15 years, Leader Services has been proud to serve Washington State
schools as the statewide vendor for the Medicaid Reimbursement Program. As of
September 1, 2009, the administration of the Medicaid Billing Program is being
transferred from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) to the
Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS).
Leader Services will still offer to be the Billing Agent for Washington State
schools. To excercise this option, school districts need to complete a
Billing and Collection Services Agreement. This agreement was mailed to each
Washington State school district in March of 2009.
If you need assistance completing this form or have any questions, please contact
Leader Services here.
