CMS Admin Claiming and Transportation Rule to be Rescinded
Article date: May 04, 2009 The office of the HHS Secretary (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services) has announced that the following CMS regulations will be rescinded:
- School-based administrative and transportation (CMS 2287)
- In part, Targeted Case Management (CMS 2237)
The rescission regulation is available on the Federal Register website (PDF document). This regulation will establish a 30-day public comment period; the rescission of CMS 2287 would therefore occur before the June 30th deadline on the current moratorium. CMS 2287 would have eliminated Medicaid reimbursement for administrative claiming and transportation services provided by schools; the newly-proposed regulation will protect reimbursement for those services.
